About this app

Menu Board

What is this app for?
Epicure, the school's caterer, emails the week's lunch menus as PDFs. Menu Board reads them, shows every dish and allergen for a person to check, and then publishes one approved copy. That copy is the public lunch menu on the website, the large-type page on the Dining Hall TVs, and a printable sheet.
Who can access it?
The staff who publish the menu: the Head of IT, the Communications team and one other colleague, in the Menu Board group. The public menu itself needs no sign-in.
  • Menu staff only

How it works

From Epicure's email to a menu everyone can trust

01

Drop in Epicure's files

Drag in the PDFs, or the zip they arrive in. They are read in your own browser, so the file never has to be opened by a server.

02

Check every dish and allergen

The review screen lays the week out like Epicure's table, with each dish beside its allergen pictures and names. A picture the app does not recognise stops the publish until a person says what it is.

03

Publish once

You tick that the allergens are checked and press Publish. Nothing ever goes out on its own, and the school calendar decides which days are open, whatever the PDF says.

04

One copy, three places

Parents read a one-page menu, the Dining Hall TVs show today in large type, and anyone can print it. Epicure's original files stay linked underneath.
